The reference among professional balaclavas
In 2021, Arcteryx introduces the revised Assault Balaclava FR Gen 2 in Crocodile. The seams and cut of the flame-retardant balaclava made of breathable mesh have been optimized to make it even more comfortable to wear under a helmet and together with other protective gear.
Improved fit
The flame retardant Assault Balaclava FR has been specifically designed to meet the requirements of direct action tasks. These are short, high-intensity missions with zero margin for error. Anything can happen and failure is not an option. The ergonomic design and flat seam construction allow for increased comfort when the Balaclava is worn in conjunction with a helmet, eye protection, hearing protection and or oxygen mask. The Gen 2 version benefits from modified seams in the forehead area, which give the Assault Balaclava FR the perfect fit of a beanie. The flame-retardant mesh fabric's special design allows it to be worn in a way that either leaves only the eyes uncovered or the entire face uncovered. This feature allows for improved ventilation and reduces the associated problem of fogging of glasses or goggles.
Optimized transition
To provide the wearer with optimal protection and improve the transition from the Assault Balaclava FR to the rest of the outerwear, the neck area of the balaclava has been completely redesigned. In the process, the characteristic Arcteryx logo was also moved from the forehead to the collar.
